Just in case you found me by accident my name is Derrol Hopewell and this is obviously my web site.

Ok, firstly let me tell you something about myself, what I have done in the past and what I am doing now. I live in Leicester and am a 'time served' engineer completing a mechanical engineering apprenticeship with Adcock Shipley in 1975. After which I worked in the staff recruitment industry, and the record industry, before becoming a machinery dealer's agent for a Leicester businessman in 1987.

The first business I started was in 1989, which involved buying and selling pre-owned tools and equipment (i.e. compressors, welders, air tools, plant and machinery). It was, and still is called DPH Equipment Specialists. I later ‘specialised’ in garage equipment and so created DPH Garage Equipment. The main products of the company are new and pre-owned lifts, repair jigs, M.O.T. packages, welders, spray booths and compressors. For a while it was very successful.

In January 1994 the recession hit the second hand equipment market and in August my wife suggested that I go back into education. Having always been interested in computers I decided to do just that and enrolled on a ‘B.Sc(Hons). Computer Science’ degree course at De Montfort University Leicester.

I finished my degree on December 14th 1999 and 0n the 29th of February was awarded the grade of 2.2. I Graduated at De Montfort Hall in Leicester on the 12th of July 2000, it was one of the proudest days of my life.

I am now the manager and proprietor of a small residential care home. Don't ask how!!! blame the wife.
